WELCOME!

Dear Santa Inés Family,

Learning English has been a great experience at Santa Inés Pre-School. Throughout this year 2010, we, students and teachers, have had lots of fun with different activities that have enriched the girls' English Language Development process.

This blog has been designed to share some of these activities, as well as videos, songs, and webpages that help to reinforce new vocabulary, and to provide and enrich meaningful learning spaces. It is also a vehicle to encourage and strengthen home-school communication, using technology as a tool.

Feel free to express any question or comment.

HARCOURT LANGUAGE SUPPORT POSTERS

Wild Animals

Here you will find a link to a Disney's Magic English video about Wild Animals. Click on it:

In it, you will find the following song, which we have learned in class:

Wild animals,
Wild animals,
Can be dangerous,
Can be dangerous.

Wild animals,
Wild animals,
If you see one,
Be careful!
Run away!

PRAYERS

Here are some prayers we have learned, with which we usually begin our classes:

OUR FATHER

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

HAIL MARY

Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

JESUS, FRIEND OF LITTLE CHILDREN

Jesus, Friend of little children,
be a friend to me;
take my hand, and ever keep me
close to you.

THE BLESSING OF SAINT FRANCIS

The Lord bless you and keep you,
May He show his face to you and have mercy,
May He turn his countenance to you and give you peace.

The Lord bless you,
IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, AND OF THE SON, AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT,
AMEN
